The CRS Spelling Bee is recommended for students in grades 3 to 6.
Students in grades K-2 can compete, but please keep in mind the content for the CRS competition is designed for grades 3-6 (we want participation to be fun for your student).
The CRS Spelling Bee is usually held in February with a written round conducted online via the Scripps online testing platform. The Top 20 Students will thena dvance to the oral round with both spelling and vocabulary words.

The winner of the oral round will represent Churchill Road at the Fairfax County Spelling Bee!
- The Fairfax County Spelling Bee is expected to be held in March (date TBA).
- In addition, the Fairfax County Spelling Bee winner will earn the right to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee during Bee Week.
